I was born and raised in St. Louis, Mo. While attending college at St. Louis University, I worked FT as the University Hospital Patient Account Manager. Years later I was relocated to Chicago and was employed by Caremark, AKA, CVS Pharmacy as the Director of Reimbursement and Finance while my husband Steve, was the Fire Chief in Chicago. While in Chicago, I also earned 2- year certificate in Horse Management from the College of Lake County. After 22+ years in Healthcare we decided it was time to retire and move to Egg Harbor, WI. I found out I could not sit at home and decided to work for Scandia Village Good Samaritan as their HR Director. 4 years later we had enough of the cold weather and built our home in Collinsville, Texas.
I have a real passion for animals, especially cats, dogs, horses and donkey’s. I have cats, 1 dog, horses, donkey’s, cows and several horses during the summer that visit my property to eat my grass. While I lived in Chicago, I competed in the Hunter/Jumper Circuit and took 2 trips to Ocala, FL with my mare, Real Comfort and competed/studied under the direction of the Olympic Champion, Michael Page. I also competed in Dressage and earned 2 Illinois State Championships.
I am now having the time of my life with my husband and all my critters. I have been working in the Veterinarian field for 15 years. I feel this is the “Best Job Ever”. I love helping our clients and learning more about their pets. What better way to live life, having your animals at home and being able to come to a job where you are blessed to be surrounded by cats, dogs and horses all day. I have found my passion in life here at Independence Animal Clinic.
